Whenever you buy an Apple computer, you always get it more for its user interface more than the actual system. While Apple users will agree that the aluminum uni-body design is tougher, looks better and is thinner than most PC laptops, the user-friendly interface is the main reason why anybody buys an Apple. However, apple laptops of the past have generally lacked power and you only got faster response with the more expensive Apple desktops. The Apple MacBook Pro MC371LL/A and its other siblings changes all this by being the first to sport Intel's new Core processors.
Thankfully, nothing much has changed for the main aspects of the laptop. The Apple MacBook Pro MC371LL/A still retains the same aluminum uni-body design, awesome keyboard and over-sized track-pad. Typing on this keyboard is heaven compared to most PC laptops while the track-pad with its multi-gesture controls is good enough to not require an external mouse. Apple still hasn't included any HDMI or Blu-ray ports but the laptop still has effortless WiFi connectivity, a DVD burner and other standard connections.
What does make the Apple MacBook Pro MC371LL/A so different is that its Intel Core i7 M620 processor is powerful enough for server operations. Running anything on the laptop is pure pleasure as it is responsive and fast compared to previous generation laptops. Graphics have also been upgraded with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and Intel's GMA HD graphics. Coupled with the great-looking 15.4-inch display and its 1440 x 900 pixel resolution and you can watch super smooth 720p video files with ease and you can even do light gaming. Battery life has also been increased somewhat with the laptop getting five hours and 50 minutes on our battery tests.
Overall, the Apple MacBook Pro MC371LL/A is the best replacement for your aging Apple MacBook Pro as it keeps what worked the last time while adding on better performing components. The price is still rather high, especially for a laptop system that doesn't have HDMI or Blu-ray support but the much faster performing interface should be well worth it.
